Aberdeen City Council Successfully Implements the Shared ARC Platform and Achieves Gold Level Two Implementation Award
Aberdeen City Council have upgraded their telecare services by adopting the Shared Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Platform, a national initiative led by the Digital Office. They have transitioned to Chubb Cloud Care Control, making their services more reliable, flexible, and better equipped for future demands.
A new digital alarm system, recently introduced to help keep vulnerable citizens safe in their homes, has been recognised nationally.
Aberdeen has received the Gold Award Level 2 for Digital Telecare Implementation from the Scottish Government’s Digital Office for the successful deployment of The Shared Alarm Receiving Centre (Shared ARC) Platform as well as the installation of over 2,000 digital community alarms.
Councillor John Cooke, Vice-Chair of the Integration Joint Board, said: “This new digital alarm system marks a major step forward in how the most vulnerable residents in our community are supported and protected.”
As the trusted digital partner for local authorities, the Digital Office for Scottish Local Government—together with Scotland Excel—has jointly developed the Shared ARC Platform as a national programme of work.
Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership, in collaboration with Bon Accord Care and the Health and Social Care Partnerships in Aberdeenshire and Moray, have taken a leading role in advancing the North East's integration into the Shared ARC Platform.
The platform will enable over 13,000 telecare users across the North East of Scotland to safely switch from analogue to digital landlines, enhancing reliability, responsiveness, and the overall quality of care. This shift ensures that citizens continue to receive life-saving support with greater efficiency and resilience.
The Council’s Emergency Response Team will continue to provide essential life and limb services, which include telecare, alarm monitoring and emergency out of hours services. The team provide a 24 hour a day service, 7 days a week.
