Bield Awarded Gold Two Digital Telecare Implementation Award

Award. Digital Telecare. 19.01.2024

Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government are delighted to confirm that Bield has been awarded the Gold Level Two Digital Telecare Implementation Award in recognition of the recent progress of their analogue to digital telecare transition project.

To achieve the Gold Level Two Implementation Award, a Telecare Service Provider must have successfully rolled out a live digital telecare service to 50% of service users and operate successfully without serious issues or call failures for at least 6 weeks.

Bield started their digital journey in late 2017 by scoping out available technology and conducting concept testing. Their programme of upgrades were rolled out in 2021 and aim to be completed in 2024.

Led by Sam Mackenzie, Property Operations Manager, Bield’s Property Management department have worked in close partnership with Bield Response 24 (BR24), their digital alarm monitoring service, and ICT colleagues to ensure that all Bield developments are digitally ready by April 2024.

At present, 82%, or 3,598 of Bield’s 4,384 homes are now digitally connected.  They aim to achieve 100% by April 2024.

Achieving this award is a significant milestone and robustly demonstrates the overall functionality and effectiveness of Bield’s digital telecare solution. Bield can now confidently progress further on their journey and aim to achieve the next Implementation Award, Platinum.

We extend our wholehearted congratulations to Bield and look forward to continuing to work with them as they progress towards the Platinum Digital Telecare Implementation Award.
