East Renfrewshire Council and Health and Social Care Partnership Awarded Platinum Digital Telecare Implementation Award

Award. Digital Telecare. 20.01.2025

We are delighted to confirm that East Renfrewshire Council and Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) have been awarded the Platinum Digital Telecare Implementation Award in recognition of the recent completion of their analogue to digital telecare transition project.

To achieve Platinum, a Telecare Service Provider must have successfully rolled out a live digital telecare service to 100% of service users and is operating successfully without serious issues or call failures for at least 8 weeks. This remarkable achievement is the final major milestone in the transition to digital telecare and we can confirm that East Renfrewshire is one of the first Telecare Service Providers to achieve this award.

Telecare provides a link from homes to East Renfrewshire Council and HSCP’s 24-hour response centre, allowing residents to call for help in an emergency at the touch of a button. Despite facing significant challenges with supplier stock availability, East Renfrewshire has successfully navigated these hurdles. To ensure timely deliveries, they diversified their alarm distribution across three selected suppliers and there has been a strong emphasis on swiftly installing alarms in people’s homes.

Owen O’Donnell, East Renfrewshire Council Leader, said: “This is a fantastic achievement from a service which supports nearly 3,000 clients to live independently in their own homes throughout East Renfrewshire. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

We extend our wholehearted congratulations to East Renfrewshire Council and HSCP and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
