South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership Awarded Platinum Digital Telecare Implementation Award
We are delighted to confirm that South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) have been awarded the Platinum Digital Telecare Implementation Award in recognition of the recent completion of their analogue to digital telecare transition project.
To achieve Platinum, a Telecare Service Provider must have successfully rolled out a live digital telecare service to 100% of service users and is operating successfully without serious issues or call failures for at least 8 weeks.
Committed to providing a reliable service to all those who require telecare support in their community, South Ayrshire HSCP’s telecare service supports approximately 2,500 dispersed alarm unit service users. From achieving their Bronze Digital Telecare Implementation Award in September 2023, they have made strides to ensure that their service operates digitally ahead of the analogue switch-off.
To safeguard their service users during the analogue to digital switch-off, South Ayrshire HSCP set out ambitious project goals to create a fully digital, end-to-end solution that’s scalable, dependable, and interoperable. The team achieved this by installing new digital alarm units, adopting the innovative Shared ARC Platform, and rolling out the Chubb Cloud Care Control System. South Ayrshire’s workforce received comprehensive training on the new systems, tested emerging technologies, and established an archive data solution—securing a resilient, future-proof service for all users.

The team have worked exceptionally hard to roll out the work necessary to reach this milestone. The move from analogue to digital has been a challenge for local authorities across Scotland, as one of the first areas to reach this level we hope to share our learning with others on the journey.”

South Ayrshire has one of the fastest ageing population rates in Scotland which is why work such as this is so vitally important, we need to ensure our residents can retain their independence for as long as possible and technology such as this allows them to do in a safe way.”
This remarkable achievement is the final major milestone in the transition to digital telecare and we can confirm that South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership are the third Telecare Service Provider to achieve this award.

From our initial conversations about the analogue to digital transition five years ago, South Ayrshire has been deeply committed to the Digital Telecare Programme. This journey reached a new height with the implementation of the Shared ARC Platform in September, culminating in a fully digital service by November 2024. This transition will significantly enhance the reliability and efficiency of telecare provision, providing innovation opportunities and greatly benefiting the citizens of South Ayrshire who rely on this critical service.”
