East Dunbartonshire Council Successfully Implement the Shared ARC Platform
The successful implementation of the Shared ARC platform by East Dunbartonshire Council is part of the Council’s wider Digital Strategy aimed at building a digitally enabled future for its residents.
To date, the project to modernise the alarm service has positively impacted 4067 service users – 2354 in East Dunbartonshire and 1723 in West Dunbartonshire.
East Dunbartonshire Council have provided call handling services for West Dunbartonshire for many years and worked closely with them throughout this project.
The motivation behind the transition was a desire and need to have a resilient, cloud-based system that allowed for potential scalability whilst supporting residents more effectively now and in the future.
It also looked to address the pressing national priority of moving from analogue to digital.
The benefits of the Shared ARC platform are already clear, including an improved process to manage alarms leading to faster response times, greater reliability, and access to analytics to allow the team to use data to make informed decisions.
Service users, their families and Council employees feel confident and assured that the system is fully equipped to handle emergencies in a speedy, smooth and effective manner.
The transition embraces innovation and collaboration which enhances service delivery and helps to ensure the safety of local people and their evolving needs.
Jamie Robertson, Executive Officer, Finance and Digital Services, East Dunbartonshire Council said, “The Shared ARC project represents a significant milestone in East Dunbartonshire Council's digital transformation journey.
“At the foundation of our Digital Strategy is a desire to lever technology to create resilient, forward-looking services that meet the needs of our residents, and this project is one step in helping us to achieve this.
“We are committed to our Digital Strategy which will see more digital elements being added to our services and in how we work. This ensures we are not only as up to date with the latest technology as we can be but will allow quicker and more streamlined processes for our residents.”
