Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership Successfully Implement the Shared ARC Platform
We are delighted to share that the ATEC24 service within the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) has successfully completed the implementation of the Shared ARC Platform. It was very much a team effort with all staff working tirelessly to ensure a successful phased migration whilst quickly acclimatising themselves with the new platform. This significant milestone not only enhances the quality of care and support they provide to their community but also positions them to stay ahead of the analogue to digital switchover deadline.
ATEC24 is a 24/7 technology-enabled care service that supports approximately 8,000 residents across the city. Utilising in-home digital telecare technologies, they offer responsive and emergency support both remotely from their call handling centre and in-person through their mobile response teams. Their mission is to promote independent living, and provide vital support and reassurance for families and carers.
With the introduction of the Shared ARC Platform, all staff now have access to new phones, laptops, and tablets where needed. This change enables updates to be applied remotely in the field, reducing time spent on administrative activities in the office. Previously, a designated Business Support Team had to handle updates for Edinburgh’s Sheltered Housing staff. Now, for the first time, on-the-ground Sheltered Housing staff can access the new system and apply updates independently.
By returning the service back in-house, all call handlers are now situated in Edinburgh instead of a call handling base in Newham. Therefore, all activities related to call handling and response are now answered in-house and issues are investigated and troubleshooted locally. As a result, their procedures are more streamlined. In addition, Edinburgh plans to commence their device replacement programme in September, where all customers with analogue telecare will be migrated to digital technology.
The successful implementation of the Shared ARC Platform marks a significant milestone in Edinburgh HSCP’s commitment to enhancing the quality of care and support they provide to their community. With the Shared ARC Platform now in place, they can now explore new innovations and make the best use of this digital platform to further improve service delivery, streamline operations, and provide more personalised and efficient care to their community. We look forward to continuing to work with Edinburgh HSCP as they progress on this journey.
