Landscape Review of Telecare in Scotland

Announcement. Digital Telecare. 15.11.2024

FarrPoint was commissioned by the  Digital Office for Scottish Local Government, Scottish Government, and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) to undertake a National Telecare Landscape Review. This comprehensive study aims to provide a clear and detailed overview of telecare services across Scotland, capturing the processes, workforce, and data underpinning these vital services.

Building on previous surveys and reviews conducted by the Scottish Government, COSLA, the Digital Office, and FarrPoint, this review represents an important step forward. It extends beyond the traditional focus on Local Authorities and Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs) by also incorporating telecare services delivered by the housing sector. By broadening the scope, the study seeks to provide a more complete picture of Scotland’s telecare landscape.

Data for the review was collected through detailed questionnaires sent to Telecare Service Providers and in-depth interviews conducted between July and December 2023. This collaborative effort has been made possible thanks to the invaluable contributions of organisations and individuals across Scotland.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated, offering insights that will shape the understanding and development of telecare services in Scotland.
