Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government, in collaboration with Digital Health Europe Twinning Partners, is delighted to announce the launch of the brand-new Citizen Pathway available on the Digital Telecare Playbook. This Pathway aims to support telecare service providers to place citizens at the heart of their transition to digital telecare.
In 2020, the Scottish Government’s Technology Enabled Care Programme brought together representatives from the University of Agder and Grimstad Kommune representing the Agder region of Norway and the Agency for Social Services and Dependency of Andalusia representing Andalucia, Spain, to undertake a Digital Health Europe Twinning Project with a focus on the transition from analogue to digital telecare.
A key focus for the Digital Health Twinning Project related to utilising digital tools for citizen empowerment and person-centred care. One of the key outputs for the twinning project was to co-create this Citizen Pathway for the Digital Telecare Playbook to support the development and deployment of innovative, person-centred service design models that place the citizen at the heart of digital telecare.
Split into the classic three pathway phases of: Discovery, Planning and Implementation, the Citizen Pathway draws on our combined experience of citizen-centred approaches and provides a variety of best practice guidance, templates and resource materials.
Telecare service providers including: local authorities, health and social care partnerships and housing providers can access this Pathway by registering to the Digital Telecare Playbook.
