Looking to 2025: Whats Next for the Digital Telecare Programme?

Blog. Digital Telecare. 19.12.2024

The Digital Telecare Programme has made remarkable strides in 2024, solidifying its role as a leader in the analogue-to-digital transition for telecare services. This year has been marked by progress, innovation, and collaboration as we continue to pave the way for a fully digital telecare future. Here’s a look at the programme’s major achievements and contributions over the past year.

Ongoing Support for Implementation and Resilience

Throughout 2024, the Digital Telecare Programme has remained steadfast in supporting telecare service providers with the implementation of digital solutions. Whether addressing outage resolution or troubleshooting critical issues, we’ve been on hand to ensure providers can maintain consistent and reliable care for their users.

Connectivity Improvements and Reducing Blackspots

We’ will continue to work with communication providers to explore new connectivity options and address challenges like network blackspots. This ongoing collaboration is crucial for ensuring all users, regardless of their location, have access to reliable telecare services. Our efforts have laid the groundwork for improved coverage and connectivity across the country.

National Integration of TIF and Telecare Standards

The Telecare Information Framework (TIF) saw significant progress this year, with the integration of national standards and the publication of updated guidelines for telecare providers. These standards ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to digital telecare delivery while encouraging innovation and adaptability in the sector.

Release of the Telecare Reporting Dashboard

In 2024, we launched the Telecare Reporting Dashboard, offering telecare service providers a tool for tracking key metrics and performance indicators. This dashboard empowers providers to gain insights into their operations, optimise services, and demonstrate the value of digital telecare solutions to stakeholders.

Publication of the Benefits Framework

Another major milestone this year was the publication of the Benefits Framework, a comprehensive document that outlines the tangible advantages of adopting digital telecare. By quantifying the value delivered to users, providers, and the broader health and social care sector, this framework supports informed decision-making and promotes the widespread adoption of digital solutions.

Rollout of Shared ARC Platform to All Contracted Services

Building on the successes of the Shared ARC Programme, 2024 saw the rollout of the Shared ARC Platform to several regions in Scotland. This expansion ensures that more providers can benefit from the efficiencies and collaborative opportunities offered by the platform, making telecare more connected and resilient

As we reflect on the achievements of 2024, the Digital Telecare Programme has laid a strong foundation for the future. With continued support for telecare service providers and innovative tools and frameworks, the programme is equipped to drive further progress in 2025.

The challenges of transitioning from analogue to digital are significant, but the opportunities are even greater. Together, we are transforming telecare services to deliver better outcomes for all.

Here’s to another year of success and innovation in 2025!
