West Lothian Council and HSCP Awarded Bronze and Silver Digital Telecare Implementation Award

Award. Digital Telecare. 30.09.2022

Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government are delighted to confirm that West Lothian Council and Health and Social Care Partnership have been awarded the Bronze and Sliver Digital Telecare Implementation Award in recognition of the progress they have made on their analogue to digital telecare transition project.

To achieve the Bronze and Silver Digital Telecare Implementation Awards, a telecare service provider must have implemented a fully operational digital Alarm Receiving Centre Solution and have successfully completed penetration testing and internal acceptance testing. In doing so, West Lothian Council and Health and Social Care Partnership have now completed one of the most challenging stages of the transition, which frequently uncovers technical challenges which must be overcome before further progress can be made. Successful completion of this stage clearly demonstrates the security and safety of the digital solution West Lothian Council and Health and Social Care Partnership have implemented.

Following rigorous testing and evaluation, the new digital alarm call system has proven to be safe and secure set-up fit for the 21st Century. Achieving both the Bronze and Silver Digital Telecare Implementation Awards now paves the way for the roll-out of digital telecare to more West Lothian residents and to work towards Gold Level One accreditation as the number of digital units increase.

Anne McMillan, West Lothian’s Executive Councillor for Social Work and Health, said: “Thanks to everyone in the West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership for their fantastic efforts to achieve both the Bronze and Silver Digital Telecare Implementation Award.

Telecare plays such an important role in the lives of vulnerable people across West Lothian, which is why so much hard work has gone into making sure the transition from analogue to digital goes smoothly.

I’m confident that the team will achieve the Gold Level One award soon, as we continue to ensure all our care systems can support the vital work of caring for local residents into the future.”

We’d like to congratulate West Lothian Council and Health and Social Care Partnership for achieving the Bronze and Silver Digital Telecare Implementation Awards, as this is a significant milestone and robustly demonstrates the overall security and functionality of the digital telecare solution, enabling them to confidently progress to testing with service users.

Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government will continue to work with West Lothian Council and Health and Social Care Partnership as they progress to testing with service users and work towards achieving the Gold Level One Digital Telecare Implementation Award.
