Digital Telecare has been exploring the scope of benefits of switching the current telecare provision across Scotland from an analogue based system via traditional telephony connections to a digital service.
The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government has been leading this work with the Scottish Government's Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Programme and in collaboration with COSLA, Improvement Service and SCTT since it commenced in April 2017.

Feasibility Study - Telecare in Scotland Analogue to Digital Transition - Product 1 Report
The Scottish Government has commissioned FarrPoint to undertake a feasibility study to investigate the transition of Telecare within Scotland from analogue to digital technology. This is a constituent part of a wider Technology Enabled Care Programme aligned with the National Telehealth and Telecare Delivery Plan aiming to enable greater choice and control in healthcare and wellbeing services for an additional 300,000 people. This report details the findings of the first Product, examining the transition of Telecare.

The Scottish Government has commissioned FarrPoint to undertake a feasibility study to investigate the transition oftelecare within Scotland from analogue to digital technology. In completing this feasibility study, a number of products were agreed as deliverables:

International Landscape Review - Final Report December 2016
The Scottish Government’s Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Programme includes a requirement to: “Explore the scope and benefits of switching current provision of telecare from analogue to Digital Telecare”. FarrPoint was responsible for completing the study into Digital Telecare and, as part of this work, provided two deliverables detailing the potential benefits of Digital Telecare and a suggested implementation approach. FarrPoint has been appointed by the Scottish Government to complete a “Landscape Review” of Digital Telecare internationally. The purpose of the study is to identify and obtain information from other organisations internationally that have already completed the shift to digital. This experience will be used to inform and shape Scotland’s approach to implementing Digital Telecare.
